JAMAL SAHIB, the author of Start With the End in Mind, is a hard man to categorise. If he talks like a business coach, it’s because he is one. He’s also an entrepreneur, a GIBS MBA graduate, a former corporate high-flyer, and something of an idealist.
Jamal is a global business speaker, and a leadership development expert who runs leadership development workshops for many large private organisations. He has a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from the University of Pretoria, and in his previous life was a Metallurgical Engineer. He is also a registered Pr Eng with ECSA, an accredited Global Business Coach with ActionCOACH and holds a PDBA from GIBS, a PMD at UCT’s Graduate School of Business and completed an MBA at GIBS.
In 2015 Jamal led a project to restructure the business for a mining multinational. This was due to a commodity price crash and the soaring costs of electricity and labour in South Africa. Having to retrench hundreds of people, he decided to leave the corporate world and start businesses to create employment.
Jamal is passionate about business and job creation on the African continent and he truly believes that his country, South Africa, will implode due to unemployment if we do not stand up to make a difference.
